Zuma arrives for AmaXhosa King’s coronation

President Jacob Zuma has arrived in Nqadu Great place in the Eastern Cape for the coronation of AmaXhosa King Mpendulo Zwelonke Sigcawu.

Zuma joins dignitaries which include traditional leaders, academics and politicians from the rest of Africa and abroad.

Locals from various villages are lining the streets ululating and sing traditional songs.

Roads leading to the Nqadu great place are busy with a convoy of cars.

Dignitaries in their traditional attire are in a good mood

The President is going to officiate in this historic coronation.

It is the first coronation in five decades after the coronation of King Xolilizwe Sigcau in 1965.
