Tony Yengeni was reportedly arrested at the weekend for drunk driving.
The ANC NEC member spent Sunday night in police custody in Cape Town, according to Die Burger. He apparently left the police station on Monday morning having paid R500 bail.
The newspaper reported that he was arrested at around 6pm on Sunday while driving a Maserati under the influence of alcohol.
Yengeni was held for drunk driving back in 2007 — the same year he was released from prison on parole after having served just four months of his four-year sentence for fraud.
