Four men have been arrested for allegedly stealing steel safety barricades from the M2 freeway, at the Joe Slovo offramp, Johannesburg metro police said on Monday.
“Metro police were alerted of four men cutting and removing the steel safety barricades [on Sunday]…Officers went to that area and found the men pushing the barricades in a trolley down the offramp,” said Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar.
“Officers also found them with tools that were used to remove the barricades.”
The men were arrested and taken to the Johannesburg central police station. They are due to appear in the city’s magistrate’s court soon facing charges of theft of municipal property. – Sapa
